Day 193 – Working, Working, Working

My entire day was spent getting lessons ready for tomorrow and next week, except for time spent on getting the songs ready for Primary on Sunday.  My PPT with movies imbedded last week was not a total success, so it is back to the drawing board this week.  I hope this one works or my discouragement level is going to increase ten-fold!

David has his one Thursday class this morning and when he got here, I was just finishing a Facetime call with Rachel.  We went to the canteen to see if we had meals put on our card for the teaching we do, but we didn’t have any meal credits yet, so we had to pay 15 RMB for the buffet lunch.  It was actually pretty good today.  If you can get there early enough so the food is still warm and there is still some bread there, it’s okay.

We took another break this afternoon to make a quick run to RT Mart.  We were out of pickles and David doesn’t like his sandwiches without pickles, so it was necessary to make a trip there.  We decided to have supper at the Pizza Hut close by there.  The Pizza Hut in China is different from the Pizza Hut in America in the food they serve.  We both got hot sizzling plates, mine with chicken and David’s with steak.  I also had a fruit salad and David had a minestrone soup.  All of it was really good.

We had to make the trip home as fast as we could because Allan was coming for his tutoring session tonight.  We made it with a few minutes to spare before he came.  David tried to convince him to do a reader’s theater with us to help his pronunciation and elocution skills, but he seemed reluctant to want to do that.  It’s out of his experience, so we need to make him more comfortable with it.

So David is often "in a pickle", I take it.
